I have never been sure about this. I love the smell of lavender but I am not convinced about the taste! It makes for a great photo though. Our lavender is over now so the bugs have all disappeared now. Harder to look for photos! :-( Keep well Diane xx
A colleague made a batch of lavender biscuits for me, they were delicious. Not overpowering, just a hint of lavender. I got the recipe from her but mine are not as tasty, more practice required I think. Hope you meant buds Diane, not bugs :) x
Whats this home made Palma Violets xxxx
Only if you have the right flower Nattie :) I made biscuits with the sugar and sprinkled it on the top of a flan, delicious x
Never thought about using lavender for anything other than smelling, so it is interesting to know that it can be used in cooking.
Just adds a lovely hint to biscuits and cakes, worth giving it a try x
There are many recipes out there for lavender, just make sure you use the right kind for the best flavor. Any English Lavender, L. Angustifolia will have a pleasant taste, they are milder and have less camphor than x intermedias, two English favorites are Royal Velvet and Buena Vista.
Thank you for the Lavender plant suggestions. I have 2 plants in the garden, but no idea what they are but they smell amazing x
