Every year on the last Saturday of July, the villages of Irleau Vanneau hold a market, which is kept as traditional as possible, on the water at Port Vanneau in the Marais. This event attracts around 15,000 visitors who visit the stalls, partake in the meals on offer, listen to the band and enjoy the firework display in the evening. The atmosphere was lovely with lots of goodies on offer, on land and on board boat, but we didn't buy anything. The circular bike ride we were on, took us through Irleau Vanneau and other pretty villages, on tracks alongside the beautiful canals of the Marais. There was a slight hiccup when Bob got a puncture, but the boys had all the right equipment to get the bike back on the road again.
